22 September….Beautiful morning for a putter on some nice country back roads…the little bike is brilliant for this stuff…installed the Bradley Performance skid plate before I left…it’s really quality kit and only around $75…perfect…gonna try to head up into Appalachia soon for lots of gravel exploring.
28 September…Finally have the thing in it’s element…nice county back roads here in Appalachia…everything is working perfectly…spent the day riding everything from tarmac to gravel…simply brilliant…cruises nicely on tarmac between 30 and 55…on steep uphills I use 5th gear then on the flats switch to 6th lowering the rpms for relaxed cruising…first gear with the 15 tooth front sprocket is not so low now and is very useful.
I plan on being here in the Western NC mountains for a couple of weeks…so nice with the lower temps and humidity…temp this morning is 47 glorious degrees….life is good.
Hi Tim, I recently had come across your Alaska bike trip videos on YouTube for the first time since I originally watched them almost 10 years ago. Enjoyed watching them again after all these years. I noticed you haven’t posted any videos to YouTube in a while. Do think you may ever return to posting there? Thanks for such great videos.

Darn shame about those fuel prices. Don’t see them coming down any time soon. Good thing the little Yamaha gets great gas mileage no doubt!

Yep the fuel mileage is off the chart…over 120 mpg!
